The popularity of travel vlogs is on the rise. Shooting videos and travelling seems to be the normality, and whilst staycations are returning in the new decade due to lockdowns, the urge to find new and exciting places hasn’t stopped.
With so many new vlogs coming out from high-end influencers to small-time fashionistas, we’ve decided to make a list of some brilliant cities to visit and locations to shoot your next vlog. So, if you’re starting a vlog, or simply want to find your next holiday — read below to find out what we love.
The city of London is home to many special monuments such as Big Ben, the London Eye, and the Tower of London. However, there is much more to London for many vloggers than the typical holiday destinations we’d expect to see in a holiday brochure. For example, the city is a host to various Michelin star restaurants, including Core by Clare Smyth, Hélène Darroze, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay — to name a few.
The city also has superb nightlife, even though many nightclubs have been shutting down in recent years due to the housing problem. It also has niche shops for dog lovers, sustainable fashion enthusiasts and those simply looking for something a bit extra. If you’re a vlogger or simply a one-stop Insta photographer, places like Lancaster Road will be perfect for you. The street hosts various coloured houses, making them a beautiful backdrop for your photoshoot or daily rant on vegan sausage rolls. And if you’re looking to create a luxurious vlog, going up the Sky Garden could be a viable option. If not, stick with the Chelsea area of London.
Spain’s Barcelona is the home to the famous football club and over one million people. The city has a lot of fascinating history and is located on the coast of northeastern Spain. Luckily, like all the places on this list, you can travel there by plane or drive there, if you prefer.
It has a lot of modern, Roman, and medieval architecture, making it an excellent city for travelling vloggers that love to dip into yesteryear.
In terms of beautiful spots, we should start with the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia. This stunning cathedral is not just a beautiful building to take photos of but also to enjoy its architectural and design genius.
In addition, if you’re looking for more Instagram-like videos, then Park Güell or Casa Battlò are great options. These spots bring out some of the more amazing unconventional designs within the city and can truly help enhance the scenery of any vlog. Again, though, we’d highly recommend enjoying the place whilst you are there without the interruption of technology.
Madrid, the capital of Spain, is a genuinely dazzling city that holds some of the best spots for a holiday and those looking to explore its rich culture and history. Like Barcelona, we adore it, and yes, we know about the rivalry.
Among many of its stunning locations and buildings, the Palacio De Cristal is among our favourites. The place holds spectacular views that can make your videos and photos pop without much effort from you. Moreover, we also cherish Parque del Retiro. This park contains some beautiful statues and detailed spots, making it an excellent area for a bit of photogenic photography for beauty influencers or those looking to update their Etsy-bought photo albums.
Brighton can be a rather cold destination compared to places like Madrid — duh. But if you’re a UK based vlogger, it’s a feasible option that doesn’t require you to take a plane or get on a boat.
Without a doubt, Brighton’s key attraction is its beach. The beach is a lovely location that can be great for some cutaway shots or a windy photo for your Facebook page, which you can share with the five people that still use it. But, enough of the jokes, the city of Brighton is a superb destination that should be enjoyed with a few cocktails at the beach. Its loudness and, at times, cold weather will be horrible for a vlog but can make for a great photo session if you’re video doesn’t work out.
Cambridge is a place known for its high-achieving university and truly mesmerising architecture. In addition, the city is full of culture and history, making it Harry Potter-like for those looking for a more historical travel vlog or one that emerges into Cambridge’s class. We should also mention that your travel to Cambridge will also gain you some IQ points if you’re fortunate.
Location-wise, you want to stick near the colleges, these buildings hold the best architecture in the city without a doubt and remain the key attraction for tourists worldwide. The city also has a beautiful river in which many people punt. It’s the perfect location for a relaxing and eye-pleasing summer vlog.

Of course, the place also holds some romantic cafes and restaurants for the foodie vloggers watching one too many romcoms on Netflix. In addition, the city has a superb collection of museums and is the home to PSG, the current club of Lionel Messi.
Take Note: Due to the laws in France and the rules of many places, we would check beforehand if you are permitted to take pictures or film. This is simply so you can avoid any arguments or embarrassment.
The city is quite nice. Okay, enough with the puns. Nice is one of the most stunning cities in France, located on the coast of France on the Mediterranean Sea. The city holds some beautiful cathedrals, museums, and hotels, including the renowned Hotel Negresco, which has a private beach of its own.
For vloggers, the city is filled with some captivating structures and spots, but like mentioned above, be careful with what you film and avoid any people in public areas as the laws in France can be tough on filming.
Le Port de Nice is amongst our favourites for locations in Nice. Its lovely filmic-like scenery will make you feel like you’re in a James Bond film, so make sure to bring your shades. We’d also look at the pebble beaches for those “living my best life” vlogs.
Tokyo is a heavy-populated city, condensed and holding some genuinely unique spots for outsiders to visit. While the city isn’t the first option for the nature-lovers, it certainly shouldn’t be crossed out as it holds some phenomenal places for photographers and vloggers that include nature.
In the summer, Mukojima Hyakkaen is one of the most beautiful spots to visit. The nature-heavy spot is lovely for relaxation and decluttering from your daily life. Its scenery certainly makes for some superb filming sessions too. Another wonderful spot in Tokyo is the Meguro River, surrounded by cherry blossoms, making the area ablaze with colour. It’s a truly mesmerising place for landscape photography or those cute six-second videos on TikTok.
The capital of Lithuania isn’t the biggest on the list; in fact, it’s the smallest of the cities mentioned. Nonetheless, it has some rather fascinating spots that are affordable to visit and holds some excellent value for those looking to learn about a country that’s preserved some important history through its challenging history.

We’d also recommend visiting The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, one of the oldest shopping malls in the world. This stunning place holds a beautiful glass roof, making it an excellent place for photos during the day. Its intricate architecture pays homage to Italy’s most significant cities and marks itself as one of the go-to spots in Milan, even if you’re not looking to buy anything.
From the colosseum to the Trevi Fountain, Rome is filled with beautiful historical monuments and locations that never seem to end. But, most importantly, it’s a city that can be and should be walked; you cannot miss the superb locations by taking a bus or, worse, be stuck in the back of an Uber hoping you’ll find a glimpse of beauty within the city that holds so much.
If you’re shooting a vlog, we’d recommend finding the right time to shoot as the city is relatively busy and thus can be a challenge on your audio quality and framing. If you run out of ideas in Brooklyn, you’ll also be welcome to create within the wider areas of New York that host a busy business city filled with high towers and coffee-loving workers.
