5 Budget-Friendly Sigma Lenses for Vlogging

Sigma is no joke of a brand when it comes to lenses. Their beloved art lenses have captured the creative minds of many amateur and professional videographers and photographers. To help out, we have compiled a list of five sigma lenses that are affordable and will fit any vlogger.

Sigma 311101 50mm F1.4 DG HSM Art Lens

This accurate and durable camera lens is probably the best starter lens we could recommend. Sigma was the first lens manufacturer to introduce a 50mm F1.4 lens, and this lens still stands the test of time with its 9-blade rounded diaphragm that creates an attractive blur in the image’s out-of-focus areas, making your vlogs a thing of beauty.

Pricing-wise, it’s not the cheapest. Currently, it stands around £649 new on Amazon, but used ones in good condition can cost just over £500. From our experience, this lens is an excellent investment for your vlogging and your photography needs.

Sigma 340101 35mm F1.4 DG HSM Art Lens

If you’re looking for something more expressive and wider, the 35mm is the go-to for you. Like the 50mm above, this option includes the excellent characteristics of a Sigma lens, including the 9-blade rounded diaphragm. Moreover, this system adjusts the distance between lens groups during focusing, reducing the required lens movement.

The 35mm is priced at £637 on Amazon, but a used one in good condition can be bought for under £600.

Sigma 258306 105mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM Macro Lens

Personally, I wouldn’t use this lens other than for cutaway shots or something a bit more creative. But the 105mm Sigma prime lens is still a great piece of kit to help you create an all-around vlog. The 105mm is a true macro lens with 1:1 magnification capability giving the lens an unrivalled ability to create scaled and realistic images. It’s a stunning lens that can work for various applications but is mainly known for portrait photography.

Price-wise it comes around £339 on Amazon. However, we’ve seen used ones selling for much less.

Sigma 886101 18-300mm F3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM Lens

Sigma’s 18-300mm zoom lens might be a great starting lens for you. Even though I feel this lens wouldn’t be my final option, it’s undoubtedly a stable starting lens with its 1:3 macro ratio and 16.6x zoom ratio covering lengths from wide to telephoto. Looking at the price, the 18-300mm is going for £369, not the cheapest but a helpful starting lens for any vlogger.

Sigma 583306 17-50mm f2.8 EX DC HSM

Our final entry on this list is another zoom lens by Sigma, this time the 17-50mm lens, which is also a top contender for vlogging beginners. The lens offers an aperture of F2.8 and handles low light pretty well, making it a solid choice for out-and-about vlogs.

Luckily, it’s also the cheapest of the lot, coming in at £309 on Amazon. It can be bought for a more affordable price if you go used, we’ve seen many go for under £200.
